Having lived in our village for almost three years now I’m embarrassed to admit that this year was only our first visit to the annual village fete… but I’m so chuffed that we managed to make it this time!
SO MUCH FUN!!
There was a great atmosphere from the very start, as we arrived early to set up our Nook and Crannie stall in the village church as part of an Arts and Crafts show.
Lots of villagers were getting stuck into the preparations, hanging bunting, erecting show tents and pegging out the dog show ground – and to everyone’s delight, it looked as though it was going to be a sunny day.
Before long, the fete had opened and everyone started to arrive. Tucking into hot dogs and ice creams, and having a go at the myriad of games including:
- Slowest bike ride
- Longest paper aeroplane flight
- Dog / Children’s assault course
- Not to mention the famous duck race!….
Roll on next year!
